How to Play

Sudoku is a simple numerical game that will challenge your mind. The game is played on a board of 9 by 9 squares. In each row or column, all of the digits 1 through 9 must appear exactly once. In each 3 by 3 square (there are nine such subsquares in the board), there must also appear each digit exactly once. A board is initially made with only a few numbers filled in. The puzzle is then to find what other numbers can fill in the board according to the rules.

In House Sudoku there are two modes of play. When playing just for fun or to challenge yourself or practice you can play a single player game. If you would rather compete for a rating, play with friends, or chat then you can make a multiplayer mode game. First you must make up any name you like for your game and type it into the room field and click Create. If you want others to join you, invite them to join your channel before you leave to create it. Once you have as many other players as you like (with a maximum 4 players, you can start the game using the Start Game button. If you like, you can adjust the difficulty of the game; the default difficulty is "medium."

To place a number on the board, first click a number on the keypad or type the number. The selected number will be highlighted in white. Then, click an empty square on the game board. If the move matches the solution, you are awarded 10 points. However, if you click a square which does not match the solution, you will be penalized with a miss.

A miss costs a certain number of points. The number of points depends on how many misses the player has already had. Each additional miss makes all future misses cost one additional point more. So a few misses each game is ok, but missing several (for instance by too much guessing) will make your score go very negative quickly and make it impossible for you to win.

Players may earn extra points if they perform a matching move with a bonus number. Bonus numbers are indicated by a red outline around the number in the keypad. Each matching move with a bonus number earns a player 30 points.

When all squares have been filled in the game is over. The player with the highest score wins. If the winner did not get a positive score then the game is considered an error and no ratings are adjusted. Otherwise, the winner will find an increase in his rating at the expense of the others.
